To enable more interaction at a digital meeting, the clap-o-meter provides a virtual applause function. Participants can use it to express their approval of current speeches, voting results or election successes.
The option to donate applause is displayed directly next to the embedded livestream, provided that the livestream function and the clap-o-meter have been selected in the settings.
Settings
You turn on the applause meter by checking the corresponding box in the "Virtual applause" section under > Settings > General.
You have the choice between two possible visualizations: Level indicator or Particles.
Independently of the visualization, you can make the following settings:
- Show applause amount: If this is selected, the exact number of people currently giving applause will be displayed.
- Lowest applause amount: Defines the minimum deflection required to detect applause.
- Highest applause amount: Defines the maximum deflection. If 0 is entered, the number of participants present is used.
- Applause interval: Defines in seconds the time in which applause values are summed up.
Level indicator
With the level indicator, a bar is displayed next to the livestream, which fills up according to the amount of applause. Especially if the highest applause value is set to 0, this can be used to see how large a proportion of the current participants are applauding.
Particles
You may be familiar with the particle visualization from social media platforms. Here, particles are displayed in the livestream image.
The default setting of the particles are colorful hearts. You can select a different image yourself: To do so, upload it under > Files and insert the URL of the file in the settings. The image format recommendation is 24x24px and in PNG, JPG or SVG file format.
