Connection problems and loop ("spinner")

If the browser loads and loads and loads when you try to log in.


Especially after system updates, the browser may still have too much old information stored.


  • Reload with Ctrl + R or (Fn) F5
  • Open application in private tab / incognito tab / private mode
  • Empty/delete cache:
    Clear cache (after successful login to OpenSlides see > legal notice / Privacy policy).
    or browser history


Important notes on known issues:

  • restrictive limitations of VPN networks often block the connection to OpenSlides
    -> if possible, use OpenSlides without VPN or discuss the settings with your in-house IT department
  • Virus scanners, especially "Kaspersky" and "McAfee WebAdvisor" sometimes block the connection to OpenSlides
    -> it helps to include the OpenSlides URL as "trusted website
  • Firewall/Proxy settings: When accessing OpenSlides, an HTTP/2 connection is established AND held. Some firewall or proxy settings block this. Please have the logs checked/analyzed once.
